Machine LVD Tests

The fact that the machines are safe means legal safety for the manufacturers. Everyone who uses the machine naturally expects the machine to be reliable and does not pose a hazard when using it. In order to protect people against machines, legal regulations and standards are set all over the world. It is mandatory to comply with the legal regulations in force by the manufacturing companies. These regulations are mainly published in European Union countries and our country adopts these regulations to our own domestic law within the framework of harmonization studies.

The second important point is that the production companies conduct risk assessment studies. In this study, the function of the machine, identification of potential hazards, identification and assessment of risks are important steps. The third important point is the safe design. Machine structure, usage and maintenance methods, electrical equipment, electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage risks and usage areas are determined in this process. At this stage, safety functions and required safety levels are determined within the framework of technical protection measures. The final stage is to make an overall assessment of the machine and to start production.

Without these processes, it is not possible to design, manufacture and offer reliable machines to consumers.

Perhaps the most important step in these processes is risk assessment. Manufacturers must identify and evaluate all hazards and points of danger that may arise during use of the machines. In this way, it is possible to prevent risks by taking appropriate measures on time. If it is not possible to eliminate the risks completely, the necessary protection methods should be taken and applied.

The Machinery Directive 2006 / 42 / AT has been issued for the safety of machinery in European Union countries. In our country, the Machinery Safety Regulation has been published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade based on this directive. According to the regulation, all machines should not harm human health, pets and goods when properly installed, maintained and used in accordance with their intended purpose. Producer companies have to produce machinery in accordance with these conditions.

The machines operate mainly on electrical energy and are therefore subject to the Regulation on Electrical Equipment Designed for Specific Voltage Limits (2014 / 35 / EU) issued by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. This regulation includes the principles for the health of people and pets and the safety of goods and methods of delivery of electrical products offered to consumers. LVD tests of the machines are performed within this framework.
